Project challenge: We needed to introduce the concept of a single, connected eastern forest and to outline the most important issues concerning this forest region. The poster was to serve as a presntation tool for meetings with politicians and policy-makers.

Solution: We chose to present the single-forest concept through the use of GIS/cartography. By taking this approach we gained the ability to illustrate within the same map two of the three main threats to the area – urban sprawl and forest defragmentation. We supported the map with text that briefly explains the threats and the regions that are most endangered.

Target audience: Politicians and policy-makers, member organizations, environmental groups, activists and individuals interested in protecting the environment.
